I have grown up listening to the songs my father liked..Call it the traditional way of getting in touch with "MUSIC"..or legacy..We used to have every cassette of Jagjit Singh and Punjabi folk. Which still now are in impeachable shape. With the boom of the mp3 the music got easily accessible and we got more and more closer to it..The invention of mp3 was a historic thing in our teens. Walkman's became a craze like anything, which helped the brands to get bigger and bigger. The personal favorite are the one's by "Sardarni Surinder Kaur".. Utmost respect goes out to the lady for the absolute and the best contribution to the punjabi folk. The lyrics and the song " EHNA AAKYIAAN CHH PAAVAN kive KAJLA VE, AAKHIAAN CHH tu vasda"..is like magic. You just can't get the same out of your mind. The soulful voice, the humble and simple music..Sheer pleasure to hear and calm your nerves.

The other legend then off course came in the form of "JAGJIT SINGH"..and "CHITRA SINGH"..The songs "Chule aag na ghade de vich paani"...."Taape"..."Shaam se aankh mein nami si hai"...."tere aane ki jab khabar mehke"...."Apni marzi se kahan apne safar ke hum hain"...The worst phase in the career came with the sudden demise of their son, and Chitra Singh stopped singing..The album "SOMEONE SOMEWHERE" was perhaps the best one to bring the pain the couple had of loosing their "TEEN AGE" son. Ultimate respect goes out to the man who have made our younger generation so much close to ourselves. The patience developed in us is all because of the "WORDS" behind the music.

One of the best living couple I have ever seen and read about. So natural, perfect and complimentary. |

The album "SOMEONE SOMEWHERE".. |
The other one is off course Bhupinder Singh and Mitali..The man behind all of them is " SAMPURAN SINGH or our own GULZAR... who can forget "HUZUR IS KADAR BHI NA ITTRA KE CHALYEA"..and "Tere Binda Zindgi se koi shikwa toh nahi"..."Is mood se jaate hain kuch sust kadam raste"...."Dil dhoondta hai phir kabhi fursat ke raat din"....."Naam gum jayega, chehra yeh badal jayega..meri aawaz he hai agar yaad rahe.".."Tujhse naaraz nahi zindgi, hairaan hun main.."...."Aaee ajnabi tu bhi kabhi"..."saathiya"...Perhaps the best things in life come this way.."Simplicity and being true to yourself"..
Who can forget the magical voice behind the every love song we have sung in our college.."Everything I do"..."when you love some one"..."Please forgive me"..."Cloud number nine"...Summer of 69"..." heaven".......He is actually the one to have me inspired to start writing..I am having a wish ..a secret one..Hope it comes true..and I will forever cherish you for taking me out from the moon's..
